We have been trying to work together as a team and build the tallest tower using only dry spaghetti and marshmallows. We had to design a tower then build it. We took a couple of days to build them and some of our towers were fantastic but some of them did not last long. We also know now that we need to take turns and work together if we want to build something as a team. The group that won worked together very well and really understood how to be part of a team.

Mrs Reid just wanted to share a picture of Walter in his very handsome vest. It has nothing to do with school at all but Walter looks so cute :-)

Bake Sale Day

Today the Middle School had their Bake Sale and we have just been to buy some of the delicious goodies.... Mrs Reid cannot wait for the sugar rush to hit!!!

Let it go...

This is a video clip of the very popular song 'Let It Go' that features a young girl called Lexi Walker along with the One Voice Children's Choir. This is an example of how it doesn't matter how young you are you can be anything you want to be. We have many members of our school choir in room 22 and one day maybe they will feature in a video too. Remember that it is not your age that decides if you reach your goals but your attitude :-)

Leadership with World Vision

We were lucky enough to have Charney Rooza, from World Vision, come and spend some time with us last week. She came to talk to us about Leadership. We played games, did a bus stop activity and watched lots of great clips that helped to show us that we can all be leaders. We learnt leaders are made not born and we all have the capability to be a great leader. We think so too :-)

Marshmallow magic

Today in Maths we looked at measurement and some standard units.... centimetre, millimetre, metre and kilometre. Then we talked about which we would use to measure certain things. One example was that we would use metres to measure material mum needed to make a skirt, we would use centimetres to measure across our Maths book and kilometres to measure distance in the car. Once we had done that we talked a bit about non-standard units of measurement.... that's where the fun began. We used both large and small marshmallows to measure lines with. Once we had counted how many it took to go across four different lines we were allowed to EAT them!!! No wonder we all love Maths in Room 22 :-)
(and that's how you use marshmallows in Maths)
